Local people need to have a voice in housing decisions – Sunak

According to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, local communities ought to have the most significant role in determining the locations of newly constructed dwellings. Earlier, the Conservative Party made a commitment to construct one million new houses in the United Kingdom by the time this parliament comes to a close. While Mr. Sunak was in Horsham, West Sussex, he stated that the Conservative Party will fulfill their commitment by giving priority to brownfield sites and protecting green spaces through their policies.

In addition, he made a commitment to prioritize the needs of motorists in the formulation of policy on potholes. In terms of the construction of dwellings, Mr. Sunak stated that the current government had a “good track record.” In an interview with BBC Radio Sussex, he stated, “We said one million homes, and we are delivering one million homes.”

“However, it is of the utmost importance that we are doing this in the appropriate locations. We are giving priority to brownfields by providing additional funding, and we are collaborating with local communities, such as this one, to preserve green spaces and construct housing, as we are a firm believer in ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to own a home.”

In addition, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of repairing the roads by filling in the gaps that are there. “We must never lose sight of the fact that the majority of people relied on their automobiles to get around on a daily basis,” he stated.

One of the decisions I’ve made as Prime Minister was to alter course on High Speed Two (HS2) and to take a portion of the money that we would have spent on the project and invest it in road maintenance all throughout the county, including here in Sussex. This is because I am very concerned about providing support to motorists. Additionally, Mr. Sunak went to a café, where he brought Jeremy Quin, the Member of Parliament for Horsham, a sausage bun that he bought for him to enjoy.

Giovanni Barozzi, who has run Panino Café for the past 35 years, stated that the customer expressed gratitude for the dish and inquired about how he had made it through the Covid-19 outbreak. I informed him that although it was a very slow procedure, the grants were helpful.
