Doug Lund Death: Well-known TV Anchor at KELO-TV Station died on May 21

Well-known TV Anchor, Doug Lund has passed away suddenly. He was confirmed dead on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 following recently released statements and publications announcing his death. He died leaving many hearts scarred after learning of his sudden death. Since the news of his death surfaced, many have not hesitated to express their heartfelt condolences with the family of Doug Lund, also paying tribute to him in recently released statements.

Early Life and Career

Lund took a break from voiceover work in 2023 and spoke with KELOLAND News. For many years, viewers of KELOLAND have been drawn to his voice. In 1974, Lund began working as an announcer at KELO-TV. Lund joined Steve Hemmingsen as a co-anchor of the news in 1975. Enormous butterflies followed his debut in the anchor chair. Lund left the newsroom in 2006 to retire. During his thirty years in the company, he saw many technological advancements: film, VHS, digital, and the internet. With technology changing all around, one thing stayed the same.

After retiring, Lund went back to his original profession of announcing. He worked as a voiceover artist for KELOLAND on a part-time basis until 2023, when health complications compelled him to resign again. Although his voice is no longer heard, his abilities as a journalist, his commitment as the head of the newsroom, and his friendship and loyalty to colleagues will always be remembered.

“I’ve really adjusted to the fact that I’ve had my day, and it was a wonderful time.  But now, let someone else have that same kind of joy,” Doug said in an interview
