Katey Howes was a poet and picture book author with multiple awards. She was enthusiastic about instilling in children a love of reading and assisting them in realizing that they are makers, inventors, and creators!

Katey, a former physical therapist, read a wide range of literature, from contemporary neuroscience to classic children’s books, and she was enthralled with physics and biology and had strong views on the use of commas.

When not penning books for young readers, Katey wrote for sites like Imagination Soup, KidLit411, Nerdy BookClub, and STEAM-powered Family. Katey has made appearances on the community television program Philly Play Jawn and Reading Rainbow Live. She gave talks on a variety of subjects linked to her novels at elementary and middle schools, universities, writing and education conferences, and school districts.
