No Active Shooter Bristol TN: Lockdown at Bristol Regional Medical Center

The Bristol Regional Medical Center received calls earlier this evening, and the Bristol Tennessee Police Department responded. A patient pulled a gun during a security breach. Although there was no active shooter on the property, a lockdown was implemented out of extreme caution to protect the safety of staff, patients, and visitors in the event of an active shooter scenario. During the incident, no patient, team member, or visitor was hurt. The hospital is safe because the security danger has been eliminated. Although the lockdown has been removed, there will still be cops around all evening.

Ballad Health appreciates the quick responses and everyone’s protection on site provided by the Bristol Tennessee Police Department, Bristol Regional Security Department, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and all team members.
