The deceased is Monroe, Wisconsin resident Toby Golembiewski. We learned with deep sorrow today that Monroe’s football coach, Toby Golembiewski, unexpectedly passed away from colorectal cancer. In 2022, he guided the Cheesemakers to the Division 3 state title. He will be sorely missed by many as the best football coach in history and as a role model for their kids. He’s been a fantastic friend to many others. They are appreciative of what he has accomplished. Everyone who knew and loved him will miss him.

A statement from the Green Bay Packers stated that Toby Golembiewski of Monroe High School in Monroe, Wisconsin, was chosen as the Packers High School Coach of the Week. The program is being presented by Buffalo Wild Wings.
In his sixth season leading the Monroe varsity team, Golembiewski has the Cheesemakers 4-2 overall and undefeated in conference play. The Cheesemakers’ success from last year, when they went undefeated and captured their first WIAA Football State Championship since 1994, is built upon this year. For the past several seasons, Golembiewski has been advocating for the team to engage with the community off the field in order to raise money for humanitarian organizations. Many of the high school athletes Golembiewski observed wearing pink regularly in October had no idea that the color signified breast cancer awareness. Having lost both a mother and a sister-in-law to cancer, Golembiewski worked to highlight the relevance of the true meaning of the color pink.
Golembiewski’s team had won a lot of games on the field the previous season, but in the latter half of the season, he experienced personal health issues. Not long after the team won the state championship, he received a diagnosis of colon cancer. Given this news and the ensuing chemotherapy treatments, it would have been normal for him to become distracted; nonetheless, football has been one of the things that has kept him going.

Many people’s hearts are broken by the news of this amazing man’s demise. He was a coach, teacher, dad, spouse, and friend. Some spent 25 years on the sidelines with Toby Golembiewski. The days he spent hunting, fishing, or just driving around the neighborhood, BSing and telling wild stories, will be remembered the most, even though he was without a doubt the most dynamic, powerful, and motivating instructor I have ever worked with.
